A little bit about my journey: My name is Karen, and I grew up on the South Carolina coast. My mother was a well-known artist in Myrtle Beach, and as a young girl, I loved accompanying her to local art shows. It was at one of these events that I took my very first wreath-making class, crafting a cornsilk design on a straw base. I was immediately hooked. Later, I learned the delicate art of hand-tying the perfect bow from a talented woman at Waccamaw Pottery. From then on, I added handmade bows to every holiday gift to make my loved ones feel truly special.
 
Life eventually took me to New Jersey, where I raised my child and occasionally made wreaths for my own home, though my hobby often took a backseat to life’s many demands. When my daughter left for college in North Carolina, I decided it was time for a change. I packed my belongings and moved across the country with my dog to the Pacific Northwest. My mother joined me three years later, but as her health began to decline, I transitioned into semi-retirement to become her full-time caregiver. When the world paused during the pandemic, I finally had the time to pick up my shears again. Encouraged by my daughter, I dove back into my craft, studying under industry leaders and rediscovering my passion by creating pieces for friends.

Following my mother’s passing in November 2024, and after weathering too many gray, rainy winters, I felt the pull of the South once again. My husband and I found a beautiful 35-acre property in Western Tennessee, complete with a dedicated workspace. In June 2025, I moved my shop across the country, finally returning home to the South to continue my creative journey.
